Chosen as the Mayor’s Charity 2025/26

We are proud to announce that Hillingdon Stroke Support Group has been selected as one of the official charities supported by Cllr Philip Corthorne, the Worshipful Mayor of Hillingdon, for the 2025/26 mayoral year.

This recognition highlights the vital work we do in supporting stroke survivors across the borough. Being chosen as part of the Mayor of Hillingdon’s Charitable Trust is a significant honour and an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges people face after a stroke, as well as the life-changing impact of community support.

At Hillingdon Stroke Support Group, we provide a safe and welcoming space where stroke survivors can come together, share their experiences, and support one another. Our sessions focus on recovery and wellbeing through activities designed to improve coordination, communication, memory, and confidence. Just as importantly, we create an environment where people feel understood, valued, and less alone.

Many of our members face additional challenges following a stroke, including difficulties with communication, mobility, and accessing services. We take a person-centred approach, helping individuals connect with the wider support they need and ensuring that no one is left behind in their recovery journey.

Throughout the year, the Mayor will be raising funds to support our work, alongside SEND Family Support Hillingdon. These funds will help us continue delivering essential sessions, expand our reach within the community, and provide even greater support to those who need it most.

We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for the continued support of our community. Every donation made through the Mayor’s Charitable Trust will directly contribute to improving the lives of stroke survivors in Hillingdon.

Together, we can ensure that no stroke survivor has to face recovery alone.
